Oh Baby, Baby!
Want to take great pictures of babies no matter what kind of camera you have? Learn quick and powerful techniques for lighting, backgrounds, posing, composing, and more for any skill level. We’ll discuss photographing newborns up to toddlers. Bring a pen and some paper to take notes!

Photography 101: Using Your Digital SLR Camera
Skip the “auto” option and set your Single Lens Reflex (SLR) camera on “manual” and learn how to really get the most out of your investment. Learn what all those settings actually do! Appropriate for beginners with no experience, and will explain in everyday terms the basic use and operation of a digital SLR camera. You will learn about aperture, shutter speed, ISO, and more. Bring your camera, manual, pen and paper. (Note, if you aren’t sure whether you have an SLR or a “point’n’shoot” camera, feel free to email with questions. This class is not meant for point’n’shoot cameras.)

Photographing Your Baby
What’s the best way to learn to take better pictures of your baby? Taking pictures with a professional photographer by your side! Bring your baby (newborn to 12 months) and your digital Single Lens Reflex (SLR) camera for this hands-on workshop. We’ll spend a few minutes each session discussing technique, and the rest of the session actually taking pictures with one-on-one advice. Bring your prints to the 2nd and 3rd classes for constructive criticism. A basic working knowledge of your digital SLR camera is needed (that is, how to change shutter speed, aperture, ISO), but the class will cover camera settings and techniques for portrait work. (Note, if you aren’t sure whether you have an SLR or a “point’n’shoot” camera, feel free to email with questions. This class is not meant for point’n’shoot cameras.)
