My first photography class was supposed to be tonight, and it’s been rescheduled because of the nasty weather.  This class is “Oh Baby Baby!” and will teach you to take better pictures of your baby (newborn to toddler) no matter what kind of camera you have.  I have lots of information and tips about lighting, posing, composing, and more!

The new class date is next Tuesday, February 3, same time (7 to 9 pm), same place (South Carroll Senior Center in Eldersburg).  So I hope all you that were registered can make it next week, and if you weren’t registered, but can join us on Feb 3, there’s still time!  Here’s the link to register:

This little guy came for his pictures the day after his first birthday.  He was a little quiet and serious at first, but he opened up after a few minutes and gave us some great smiles and giggles too.  He also gave me great eye contact throughout the whole session.  Most babies lose interest in looking at that boring black circle (ie my lens) pretty quickly, but not this one.  He just looked and looked!

What can I say?  I’m just in love with this one!

At the end of the shoot, we let him wander around a bit, and I caught this one while he was looking out the window of my breakfast room.

And we did some shots with Mom and Dad too!  I’m always glad when moms and dads want to be part of the session too because someday, their children are going to cherish these pictures of their parents.  We all want pictures of our children for ourselves, but sometimes we forget that our children will want pictures of us too!

This little girl belongs to this beautiful mom that I posted about in November.

Her mom brought rosary beads to the maternity session and this little miniature strand to the newborn session.

Sometimes we do get photos of the newborn awake, and I love that she’s looking right at me in this one.

This is my niece in Charleston, SC over the holidays.  These photos were taken at my parent’s house on the Isle of Palms, and yes, it is that warm there at Christmas!

I love these trees with their branches that dip down low so gracefully, and I’ve been wanting to use them for photos for years!

This beautiful mama is pregnant with her second.  We had a great time dressing her up and trying different looks.  Here are a few of my favorites.

I always like the classic jeans and white shirt look for maternity.

I love the silhouettes because they really bring the focus to the mother’s shape, which is what these pictures are all about.
